We have 20 years’ experience working for and with, well known international retailers, suppliers and factories, developing, manufacturing and selling the full range of Homeware products, (e.g. Furniture, Lighting, Home Textiles, Dinnerware, Homeware Accessories etc), as well as experience in Apparel and Fashion Accessories.

There are very different challenges that are faced when sourcing, buying and developing Homeware products compared to apparel.

Homeware products use a diverse range of materials, and very different, specialist manufacturing methods as well as having to meet complex, stringent performance standards, and packaging / transportation requirements.

All of which need to fully understood and appreciated by the person you are seeking to support your business, and working with your suppliers / factories.

• Wood – when making products from solid wood e.g. furniture, the long lead times to kiln dry of the wood, and the European Timber Regulations (EUTR) must be taken into consideration when placing orders, scheduling production, and planning re-buys.
• Plastic – for plastic products made by injection moulding requiring ‘tooling’; at the design stage, it is critically important to understand the limitations of this manufacturing process, the requirements of the compliance testing standards, investment and amortisation in tooling costs, before the product design is approved and tool making commences.
